The Read House visit was truly a blast from the past for us! We had visited the Read House back in 1983 to celebrate Randy’s senior prom! The last picture in the slide show is the silver ballroom, where we both danced 38 years ago!

Boasting as the #1 Luxury Hotel in Chattanooga, the Read House is nationally recognized as a historic hotel.

While there, we were told that there has been a $30 million dollar renovation completed on the property (and it is very noticeable we might add) and is now divided into the Historic Towers, which is where we stayed as you view the pictures, and the Manor Towers. We originally had booked the Manor Towers, as we didn’t realize the division, but upon arrival, we were offered an upgrade to the Historic Towers for $30, and I highly recommend it as it was money well spent!

As you can see in the scroll, the bedroom is nicely appointed, the bathroom takes you back to the grand Chattanooga Choo-Choo days with the black and white tiles, and the bathroom was huge by the way, and the entire hotel is on high alert on pandemic duty. Employees were constantly cleaning the floors and furniture, and the visual of this over the top routine at least made us feel comfortable, and we were able to actually relax without thinking you need a mask and gloves.

The Hotel offers a variety of upscale services and accommodations, of which my two favorites was the downtown location with restaurants, pubs, and attractions literally walking distance from the front door, and Bridgeman’s Chophouse, which is a wonderful restaurant located on the first floor of the Hotel. I should also mention for those that like to have a glass of wine in a cozy spot, the Bar and Billiards room is a nice place to kick back and chill after a long day of work, sightseeing in Chattanooga, or like us–traveling.

Alert–The Read House and Bridgeman’s Chophouse both can be pricey for some budgets, but if you are looking for something different, a weekend of fun, this place can definitely leave you thinking “what-a-weekend,” and because of that we would say the Read House is worth the time and money.
